I finally head to Patapsco High School tomorrow morning to start my internship. The students won't be there until Monday, so I expect we'll be working on classroom setup, lesson plans, etc. All nervousness that I might have is overshadowed, currently, by my overwhelming sluggishness due to heat and humidity. I'm definitely excited, though.
The form this blog ends up taking, and even whether it exists at all, depends on a few things. First, I'll need to check with the principal, my cooperating teacher, and my professor at Goucher. I do plan to make it available only to people I know, upon my approval, but I haven't bothered yet because nothing has happened yet. Although I know people sometimes get nervous about things on the internet, I see it as a useful way to merge keeping in touch with friends and family with being open and transparent with my teachers and co-workers about my experience.
Well, we leave at 7:15 tomorrow, so I'm going to bed. Wish me luck!

Bloggin' it up
So, welcome to my sweet website, where I plan to talk about my "student teaching experience." So, if you're reading this, that's sweet! Thanks for being my friend or just oddly curious.
Beyond being exceptionally nervous about the whole thing, I've already had one frustrating experience -- the "letter" with my placement info that I'm supposed to receive some time this summer still hasn't arrived, less than a week from when I start! ahh! In any case, I think it's safe to say that similar things happen to teachers all the time, so I might as well get used to it.
Yeah, so I'm sure I'll have more significant things to say once I've actually started (August 18th or so). For now - peace
